Switch
Rated Plugs & Receptacles
|
 |
|
In
the early 1950s Gilles Marechal witnessed an industrial
accident that occurred when a defective motor was plugged
in. The seriousness of the accident caused Mr. Marechal
to embark on a mission to develop an industrial duty
plug and receptacle that would eliminate the hazards
posed by ordinary pin and sleeve devices.
The
result was the establishment of the Marechal Corporation
and the creation of a safety focused product line that
is now manufactured and sold in North America by the
Meltric Corporation.
Meltric
Corporations complete line of industrial duty
plugs and receptacles (including the worlds only
UL and CSA switch rated plugs and receptacles) are manufactured
in a state of the art facility in Franklin, Wisconsin.
Corporate headquarters are located under the same roof
as the manufacturing facility to allow efficient communication
and coordination between customer service, engineering
and manufacturing. This helps us ship 95% of all orders
in less than 24 hours!

Choose
the DSN for its NEMA 4X watertight rating,
its compact size and its lightweight
design.
DSN
casings are made of fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic
polyester which provides resistance to shock,
chemicals and UV rays. Plugs and receptacles are
available for applications up to 60 amps and 600
volts.
|
 |
 |
Choose
the DS for its rugged, heavy-duty construction
and/or its high amp range (100 amps at 600
volts, or 200 amps at 480 volts).
Depending
on the model DS casings are made of coated zinc
aluminum alloy or fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic
polyester. The standard DS has a NEMA 3R watertight
rating.
|
 |
 |
Choose
the DB for its high horsepower range
(up to 60 hp), its IP67 rating, its
rugged construction, and its arc blowing
system and internal spring loaded switch operator.
DBs were designed specifically for the harsh
duty of handling inductive loads and have casings
that are made of epoxy coated zinc aluminum alloy.

hazardous duty plugs and receptacles |
|

|
The
DXN is unique in that it is a hazardous duty
plug and receptacle that allows users to make
and break under load. It is the ideal plug and
receptacle choice for Class I Div II locations.
The NEMA 4X and IP67 watertight seal for the DXN
series is automatically achieved as soon as the
contacts are closed. Each device is made of self
extinguishing non-static glass reinforced polyester
(PBT) material that offers outstanding resistance
to mechanical abuse and chemicals.
DXN
products are available in 20, 30 and 60 amp sizes
at 480V and for applications where additional
control circuits are required, units are also
available with two pilot contacts.

Meltrics
DX Series plugs and receptacles are heavy-duty
metallic devices that are safe for use in hazardous
environments. They are available in 20, 30, 60
and 100A sizes. Each device is EEx ed IIC T6 rated
to CENELEC standards EN50014/18/19 Zones 1, 2,
and 21. DXs have additionally been tested
and approved by ETL for operation under load in
a gaseous environment (14.5% acetylene). This
is a key performance test required for Class 1,
Division 1 products.

high ampacity plugs and receptacles |

PF
and PFQ plugs and receptacles are engineered
for use in high amperage applications where routine
plug insertion and high reliability are required.
All
PF and PFQ devices feature epoxy coated aluminum
casings, silver contacts, IP67 environmental ratings,
mechanical locking and integral pilot contacts.
The epoxy coated aluminum casings provide excellent
durability and resistance to harsh environmental
conditions. The silver contacts ensure maximum
conductivity and resistance to oxidation and corrosion.
The contacts are pressure loaded to provide consistent
contact force and operate with a lateral wiping
motion, which provides a self-cleaning action
that improves performance in dusty and dirty conditions.
The
mechanical locking feature ensures watertightness,
prevents accidental disconnection and also controls
the pilot contacts. This interlocking of the pilot
contacts with the mechanical lock helps to ensure
user safety by preventing the pilot contacts from
closing before the phase contacts are securely
connected and by ensuring that they open before
the phase contacts.

Multipin plugs and receptacles |
 |
High
and low ampacity multipin devices are used in
power
and control applications. Products range from
5A up to 100A and include load making and breaking
capacity. Contact tips are made of silver nickel
and casings materials consist of reinforced polyester,
epoxy coated metal or stainless steel depending
on model type and size. Products are available
with as many as 37 or as few as 2 contacts.
|
|

|
The
PN multipin plugs and receptacles are ideal
for compact applications, in robotics, machine
tools,
and food processing.
|
 |
 |
DSN
multipins are designed for frequent low ampacity
connecting and disconnecting applications.
|
 |
 |
DN
connectors are designed for those difficult environments
where there is a need for frequent high ampacity
connecting and disconnecting.
|
 |
 |
The
DS7 and DR7 products are made for
the same environment as DN7 with the ability to
add up to 3 pilot contacts.
